How to Turn Off Easy Combos Dragon Ball Fighterz
Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the biggest fighting games (and Dragon Ball games, at that) released in the past few years. This new 3v3 fighter busted onto the scene in 2018 and took competitive fighting games by storm. It's also a game that's going to take you a lot of work to get very proficient in.
This game is no easy street title, that's why we've put together a list of pro tips that you should know about the game. If you sit down and use this list along with your usual practice, with a lot of hard work you should be playing like a pro.
10 PRACTICE YOUR DEFENSE
Fighting games are never about pure offense. This means you shouldn't simply be focusing on going to training mode and learning combos and blockstrings. Learning these offensive options and strategies is only half of the battle and won't help you get anywhere alone.
You need to be going into training mode ready to record the training dummy to run their best mixups and blockstrings against you so you can familiarize yourself with these situations and therefore upgrade your defense. You're going to need that knowledge especially in this game
9 LEARN YOUR DEFENSIVE OPTIONS
While the seemingly most important part of defense is to be able to block, that is never all there is to it. You're going to need to be able to know exactly what you can do to help ease the pressure of enduring your opponent's offense, over and over again.
This game gives players quite a few good and potent options to deal with crazy offense, and while they aren't as good as a pushblock, they are perfect for this game and they get the job done. Familiarize yourself with how and when to use things like reflect and guard cancel for an easier time while being oppressed.
8 LEARN YOUR OFFENSIVE OPTIONS
While the offense isn't everything, it's definitely a big thing, especially inDragon Ball FighterZ. This game is definitely heavy on what you need to be making your opponent take when you're the one at advantage during the fray.
This means when you get your opponent blocking you should be ready to mixup with your assists, high-low (meaning make them guess whether you're going to hit high or low) mixups, and of course your easy auto combo frame traps (meaning slowing down your auto combo attacks enough where you'll hit your opponent trying to counter out).
7 PRACTICE YOUR COMBOS
Once you break through the defenses of your opponent you're going to want to hit them good and hard. That's a part of fighting games 101. Once you're in there you're going to want to maximize your damage and your profit off of said damage.
This means you're going to want to go into training mode and practice your combos enough to where you aren't dropping them and you're left in the best position possible after landing them. After practicing enough you'll be putting your opponent's patience and defenses to the test.
6 LEARN TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR OPPONENT
Many players have the problem of playing fighting games as if they're a single player game with the main objective being to simply hit and combo their opponent. However, this misconception is not the case at all.
The main objective of all fighting games including, of course,Dragon Ball FighterZ is to break down your opponent and run your offense to victory. This means you need to take your eyes off your own characters and put just as much focus on your opponent and their tendencies. After catching onto them you'll be able to open them up like a can opener.
5 LEARN HOW EACH CHARACTER WORKS
Another horrible misconception that players have about fighting games is that you simply need to learn your own main characters and then you're good. Well this misconception is the death of many before the game even starts because you're not going to want to one and done when it comes to the character learning process.
Fighting games require you to learn each and every character at least on a basic level. If you do this many scrub kill tactics will be of no surprise to you because you'll know everything that comes your way.
4 STOP MASHING
Mashing is one of the worst habits that anyone can take into a fighting game. If you aren't aware exactly what we mean by this, mashing means you're constantly hitting buttons when it isn't "your turn." For example, you're trying to constantly hit buttons to counter after you've been knocked down and in turn get counterhit for doing so.
While there are times inDragon Ball FighterZ where mashing will profit you, there are even more times where it can and will be your downfall. Familiarize yourself with when you should and shouldn't mash.
3 LEARN FROM YOUR LOSSES
Instead of simply being salty and moving on to the next match, you're going to want to learn to love to lose. In the world of fighting games, you quickly learn that losses are your best friends and those in-game recording features are a true blessing.
This is because the best way to learn in fighting games is to lose. Losing teaches you more than winning does and that goes for just about any competitive activity. After losing you're going to want to watch a lot of your losing matches and then sit and think what you did wrong and what exactly can you do better.
2 PLAY MORE PEOPLE
This might seem like an obvious answer but many players don't understand this one either. Many believe that you can simply train for a few days and you'll be amazing already. This, however, is not how getting better at fighting games works, nor has it ever been the way to.
What you're going to want to do is find more players looking to grow and get better and play with them to your heart's content. This will help you get familiar with situations in action and your knowledge of the game will constantly grow. Even more than simply playing alone
1 PLAY A TEAM WITH SYNERGY
In 3v3 game that features assist character mechanics one of the most important things to do is make sure that your team has synergy. This means finding a team that complements each other and has assists that allow them to work together in the best way possible.
This means that inDragon Ball FighterZ you can't just be picking a team that you like but one that is effective while being enjoyable to you. A good way of going about this is by picking a character you enjoy and building around them. This will make sure your team is one you love while being as strong as it can be.
